Teaching philosophy
My teaching philosophy centres on creating an inclusive, student-centered environment that supports language development through differentiated instruction, meaningful content, and strong scaffolding. I believe that building confidence and autonomy in language learners is essential for long-term academic success — particularly in settings where language demands increase across subject areas. Every student I work with brings a different starting point, and my role is to meet them there.
The examiner background
Having spent 8 years as a certified IELTS examiner, I assessed hundreds of candidates across all skill areas. I applied the marking criteria firsthand — which means I understand exactly where candidates succeed and where they fall short.
This informs everything I do in the classroom and tutoring room: how I frame tasks, how I give feedback, and how I help students understand what examiners are actually looking for.

Student outcomes
The majority of students who commit to a structured 3-month programme improve by at least one full band. Many go further.
Most students arrive at Band 5. Within 3 months, Band 6 is a realistic and consistent outcome. Band 7 is achievable for motivated candidates who engage fully with the programme.

SoundReady Ascend is a tutoring platform I founded and built independently, designed for adult IELTS candidates. It focuses on functional phonetic awareness and spoken fluency — using research-backed methods rather than intuition-based coaching.
Building it solo — from design and content to deployment — reflects both my technical range and my belief that the best teaching tools are the ones you create yourself.
